After experiencing my own mid-life crisis which consisted of extreme burnout and overwhelm, I began to seek answers for my own healing.
I’ve been a Registered Nurse for 26 years and a Cancer Certified Nurse for 18 of those years! What I realized on my own healing journey was I had neglected my creative side! I had always been creative by sewing, crafting, knitting, and creating with color.
I re-tapped into my creative side, and found what I’d been missing. I found adult coloring just as it was starting to become popular. There were limited places I could find supplies and I needed to order most things online. Now I find it’s just easier and less stressful to find what I’m looking for online. It eliminate stress in my life to be able to find exactly what I’m looking for within a few moments search!
I became a wellness coach, and my healing journey incorporated support from my creativity and adding healing tools like herbal support and essential oils.
Also, realizing I am enough…the sufficiency of being enough, having enough…it was a total breakthrough for me.
As an update: I lost my son who suffered with Military PTSD and TBI on January 17, 2017 to Veteral Suicide. I’m heartbroken, as well as our entire family. He was on SO many meds legally prescribed by the VA. He was a total zombie in the middle of each night. He ended his life around 3:00 AM, and we as a family feel he was so mind altered, he didn’t understand what was happening. As we heal, we are looking for ways to honor him, and bring attention to the problem of polypharmacy by the VA.
My blog here is an affiliate blog. Many of my posts contain affiliate links where I get a VERY small percentage of what you may purchase on those sites. It does not increase the cost of any product to you, but will enable me to write and one day allow me to put my full attention on creating a healing place for veterans who are suffering from PTSD and TBI.
